The iPhone 13 Pro Max remains one of the best, if not the best smartphone in the market. The ‘Pro Max' tag means that not only is it the most expensive of all iPhones, it is also the most feature-rich. After being much lauded, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has established itself as a great smartphone- sales have been outstanding. But now, is it time to move to the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro Max. The question is a simple one. Can Apple improve the best iPhone in existence to make the customers switch over to the new device? If rumors and leaks are to be believed, they just might have. Let us check out the expected specification upgrades the upcoming Apple smartphone can receive and see just how much it improves the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

iPhone 13 Pro Max vs iPhone 14 Pro Max: The upgrades

The iPhone 14 Pro Max upgrades almost every aspect of the device compared to its predecessor but the most significant improvements come in the processor, display and the camera. So let us take a look at how the iPhone 14 Pro Max can potentially hold up to the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max features a 6.7-inch super retina XDR display with a dynamic refresh rate between 10-120Hz. It also features a notch. In comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is rumored to take the adaptive refresh rate as low as 1Hz, which will see it match the dynamic refresh rate of Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. While it might keep the rest of the display specifications the same, it can also get rid of the notch in favor of a dual hole and pill cutouts. But whether it is an upgrade or not, that will be a subjective opinion.

It has also been rumored that the iPhone 14 Pro Max will be equipped with the Apple A16 Bionic chipset, as opposed to the A15 Bionic chipset on the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Since it is a newer SoC, it should offer better performance but the extent of it is not known.

The third upgrade the iPhone 14 Pro Max can receive is in the camera department. The iPhone 13 Pro Max sports a 12MP primary rear camera but the iPhone 14 Pro Max can be equipped with a 48MP primary rear camera with a bigger sensor and capabilities of up to 8K video recording.

While the iPhone 14 Pro Max is rumored to receive these upgrades, these are not the only ones. There are leaks around a larger battery, faster charging, software improvements and more. But with so much to offer, the smartphone might also cost $100 more than its predecessor and start at $1,199.
