Here’s why you might not want to buy the PlayStation 5, Sony is working on a PlayStation 5 Pro

Sony's PlayStation 5 has been such a hit that it's almost been impossible for many gamers to get their hands on the console. And while it is not as high-end as Xbox Series X when it comes to processing power, the PS5 can still run the latest games at high resolutions without a glitch.

However, it looks like Sony wants the Ps5 to be their second best console. According to a report in T3 a Sony Interactive Entertainment patent published this year has details about how they are working on a new games console that could come with two graphics cards.

As per reports, the patent details a ‘scalable game console' in which a second GPU is coupled with first to be used as a home console and cloud gaming machine. The official Sony patent notes that the plural SoCs will work towards providing a high-end version of the console that comes with better processing power and storage capability.

Also, this ‘high-end' console, as mentioned earlier, can be used for a cloud-optimised version.

If things go exactly the way the patent describes it, it will be a big move for Sony. The PS5 Pro, with its two GPUs, could deliver 20 teraflops as compared to the 10.28 that the Ps5 delivers right now. And the 20 teraflops speed is also higher than the 12 teraflops the Xbox Series X provides.

This would also make the new PS 5 Pro close the gap between gaming consoles and high-end PCs that used dual GPU set-ups for rendering games at high-res and frame rates.

Given that the PlayStation 5 is not even available yet in certain parts of the world, like in India, maybe we don't need to worry about having spent money on a console with a better one in the pipeline.
