Redmi 9 Prime with 5,020mAh battery, MediaTek Helio G80 chipset launched in India

Redmi 9 Prime will be available to purchase during the Amazon Prime Day sale on August 6 and 7.

Xiaomi today launched its Redmi 9 Prime smartphone. The new budget phone comes with four rear cameras, and MediaTek's Helio G80 chipset.

Redmi 9 Prime is priced at ₹9,999 for the base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It also comes with 128GB storage which carries a price tag of ₹11,999. Redmi 9 Prime will be available on August 6 during Amazon's Prime Day sale and mi.com. It will go on sale across other platforms soon.

The smartphone has a 6.53-inch full HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass layered on top. It runs on MediaTek's Helio G80 chipset paired with ARM Mali-G52 GPU for graphics. Redmi 9 Prime comes with P2i coating for splash resistance.

For photography, Redmi 9 Prime sports a quad-camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. There's an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies.

Redmi 9 Prime packs a 5,020mAh battery with support for up to 18W fast charging. The phone's claimed to last for two days on a single charge. Its connectivity options include USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0 and dual SIM support. Redmi 9 Prime also has a rear fingerprint sensor. It runs MIUI based on Android 10, and also comes with dark mode.
