Xiaomi will launch its new budget smartphone Redmi 9 Prime in India today. The new phone will be available through Amazon India as part of the Prime Day sale.

The phone will be officially announced at 12 PM today. Apart from Amazon India, the phone is likely to be available through mi.com. The sale is expected to begin on August 6. The smartphone will reportedly be priced around ₹10,000 in India.

Redmi 9 Prime is also going to be the first Xiaomi phone in the entry-level series to offer Full HD+ resolution. The new phone in India is said to be the global version of the Redmi 9. Already available in select markets, Redmi 9 has a 6.53-inch full HD+ screen.

It runs on MediaTek Helio G80 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. There will also be a microSD card slot for expandable storage.

Xiaomi's new budget phone will also offer as many as four rear cameras. The setup features a 13-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, 5-megapixel macro sensor, and 2-megapixel depth sensor. It will have a large 5,000mAh battery with 18W Quick Charge support.

Xiaomi's Redmi 9 Prime will take on a wide range of under ₹10,000 phones in India. Some of the top phones in this segment are Samsung Galaxy M10s, Infinix Hot 9 Pro, and Realme Narzo 10A.
