Gaming mania in India is going strong in India - just check out the reception that Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) got - the downloads just skyrocketed after launch. Then there are the ever-popular, Pokemon, Minecraft, Fortnite, GTA, Cyberpunk 2077, to name just a few of the games. With the trend likely to stay hot, a number of PC-makers have rolled out their wares targetted at gamers. The latest to do so is HP, which on Monday announced the launch of its Victus 16 gaming laptops in India, bringing the latest generation AMD and Intel processors to gamers. The company is launching two new laptop series, namely the Victus D series, which is powered by the Intel Core i7 processor, while the Victus E series will be powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 processor.
According to HP, both the Victus D and Victus E series devices will feature Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 discrete GPUs under the hood. These laptops will compete with similar offerings from Dell (G Series), Lenovo (Legion 5 series) and the ASUS TUF series. HP also says that the Victus 16 series laptops are built sustainably with post-consumer recycled ocean-bound plastic for the speaker housings and bottom base of the chassis, along with sustainable packaging.

According to HP, the Intel Core i7 powered HP Victus 16 D series will cost ₹74,999, while the AMD Ryzen 7 powered HP Victus 16 E series is cheaper and is priced at ₹64,999 in the country. The HP Victus 16 D series will be sold in a ‘mica silver’ colour via Reliance Digital stores, while the HP Victus 16 E series will be sold in a ‘performance blue’ via Amazon India.

The HP Victus 16 D series will be powered by either an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-11800H chipset or an Intel Core i5-11300H chipset. Meanwhile the HP Victus 16 E series will be powered by AMD Ryzen 7 5800H chipset or the AMD Ryzen 7 5600H chipset.
When it comes to discrete graphics, both the HP Victus 16 D series and HP Victus 16 E series will come with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU. However, the HP Victus 16 E series will also give users the option to choose the AMD Radeon RX 5500M GPU instead.
Like other popular gaming laptops, the HP Victus 16 D series and HP Victus 16 E series come with 144Hz refresh rate for the 16-inch displays. The HP Victus 16 series laptops will come with 16GB of RAM along with storage of up to 512GB via PCIe 4 connectivity.
On the software front, the HP Victus 16 series will come with a preinstalled Omen Gaming Hub, to offer advanced features like undervolting, performance mode, network booster, and system vitals.HP also states that these laptops will be eligible to receive the Windows 11 upgrade when it rolls out later this year.
