Microsoft prepares for Windows 10 October 2020 Update, final preview rolls out

Microsoft is gearing up for the roll-out of Windows 10 October 2020 Update for users. The next update is going to bring a wide range of new features, improvements, and interface changes for Windows 10 users. Ahead of the official roll-out, Microsoft has released what is said to be the final preview for the update.

Available to Windows Insiders, users will need to visit Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. Here, Insiders can download and install the 20H2 update. Once the software is downloaded, Insiders will continue to get the new service updates through Windows Update.

The October 2020 Update will also start automatically roll out for Insiders in the Beta Channel. Those who had skipped the October 2020 Update earlier will be automatically given through a Windows Update.

“Today, we are releasing Build 19042.508 (KB4571756) to Windows Insiders in the Release Preview Channel. We believe that Build 19042.508 is the final build and still plan on continuing to improve the overall experience of the October 2020 Update on customers’ PCs as part of our normal servicing cadence,” said Microsoft in a post.

As said earlier, Windows 10 October 2020 update will bring a wide range of new features. This will include a revamped Start Menu with a partially transparent background. Users will have the flexibility to choose the accent colour for the Start frame as well as the taskbar, action centre, and Start buttons. The Start menu will also be able to automatically adjust to light and dark themes.

Another highlight of the update is the Chromium-based Edge browser. Users can expect more features in the Control Panel along with a revamped Settings page. The update also features improvements for 2-in-1 PCs, and Your Phone app among others.
