In a first, Xiaomi to launch its first Redmi 5G smartphone in India, reveals launch date; check price and specs

Xiaomi Redmi Note 10T 5G smartphone will be launched in India on July 20, the company announced on Monday. The company’s latest addition to the Redmi Note 10 series bears the same model name as the international version. The company has already launched the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10, the Redmi Note 10 Pro, the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max (review) and the Redmi Note 10s. The Redmi Note 10T will be Redmi’s first 5G phone to launch in the country.

Last week, we reported that the company had posted a teaser of the upcoming phone on Amazon India, referring to the smartphone as ‘smart and futuristic’ and that the device was ‘coming soon’. Once it is launched on July 20, the Redmi Note 10T is going to compete with smartphones like the Realme Narzo 30 5G and the Realme X7 5G.

Redmi Note 10T launch date announced

The company has finally confirmed the rumours of the upcoming launch of the device, via a new dedicated page on its website that shows off the features of the device and reveals the Redmi Note 10T launch date of July 20. A communications official from the company also announced the upcoming Redmi Note 10T launch in the country on YouTube earlier today.

Redmi Note 10T expected price

While Xiaomi has not yet announced how much the Redmi Note 10T is going to cost once launched in the country, Gadgets360 reports that the device could be launched at a similar price to the Russian variant of the phone which means it could cost around ₹20,000. However, as neither the price of the device or the official sales channels have been announced, we will only know how much the Redmi Note 10T will cost when it is launched in the country.

Redmi Note 10T specifications

Going by the specifications of the Redmi Note 10T 5G model that has already been launched in Russia, it looks like the device could launch in the country with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor and a 5000mAh battery. On the camera front, the device is likely to come with a 48MP primary sensor, a 2MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth sensor, while sporting an 8MP selfie shooter. While the Redmi Note 10T that was launched in Russia is available in three RAM and storage variants -- 4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB and 6GB/128GB, we will have to wait until July 20 to find out whether the same options will be available to Indian customers.
