According to a report by Axios, TikTok has begun testing a new tool for users to seek employment while allowing employers to locate prospective employees on the platform. The report states that the service is being beta tested with a group of companies, but big brands and sports leagues could eventually be part of the feature.

Instead of integrating the feature with the main app, the report suggests that the job search feature could feature as a separate web page, that should be able to help users narrow down any listings that are added to the service by employers. Meanwhile, users will be able to upload a ‘video resume’ to their profiles.

Unfortunately, while the country has many job candidates seeking employment, it is unlikely that they will be able to access the feature in the near future. TikTok was one of a long list of apps with Chinese ownership, banned by the government over security concerns last year.

It is important to note that TikTok has not yet confirmed the details of Axios’ report, which means that the feature which is being tested at the moment, could be scrapped entirely if the company finds it is not up to the mark. We will update this article if the company issues a statement about the upcoming feature.
