Meta-owned WhatsApp is planning to roll out the new animated heart emoji to iPhone users. This will be initially to iOS beta testers on the latest 2.22.72 beta update. The app will be introducing this feature for the Android users in near future. The new addition has been released for testing only and will soon be available to all iOS devices. Additionally, the animated heart emoji will be available in different colour options as well.

To see the animated heart emojis, the recipients must also have the feature enabled on their WhatsApp account. The WhatsApp development tracker WABetaInfo has shared the news in one of its blog portals. They mentioned that the instant messaging app will allow the receiver to see the animated heart emoji only if they have this feature on their phones.

WhatsApp animated heart emoji to roll out for android users as well

For the Android users, they shared that WhatsApp is planning to introduce the same feature on WhatsApp beta for Android as well, however, there isn’t an exact release date for the feature to come on WhatsApp for Android.

As of now, the animation is reserved for only a specific red heart but now it will apply to all the other coloured heart emojis. The portal has also shared a video where all the hearts sent in a chatbox seem bigger. The clip also shows all of the heart emoji beating the same way a red heart emoji beats.

Notably, the WhatsApp feature has been rolled out for some beta testers only, and hence it may not be available for everyone and users might have to wait for a while to use it.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also planning to add a new feature that will allow users to listen to voice messages even if they shift to other windows or chats. The Meta-owned instant messaging company is testing it for the Android devices for now. It is rolling out to selected iOS beta users. Presently, the voice note automatically stops playing if users leave the specific chat tab, however, with the new addition users may get more control over the voice notes as they now listen to it in the background as well.
