Apple is all set to surprise its fans with the launch of iPhone 14 series in the coming days. As per the leaks and rumours, Apple will be launching the iPhone 14 series on September 7, 2022, which is just 3 weeks away. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, this will be Apple's earliest launch since 2016. Informing about the same he tweeted, "Power On: Apple is just three weeks away from showing off the iPhone 14, its earliest launch since 2016. Here’s why."

"As I reported last week, the company is planning to announce the iPhone 14 at an event on Sept. 7. It would be the earliest iPhone launch since 2016 and be followed by the new device going on sale Sept. 16—about a week ahead of last year’s schedule. The event will be on the Wednesday after Labor Day, an atypical day for Apple product launches. It signals that the company wanted to leave that Tuesday free. Why? Perhaps because press and other guests will need a travel day after the Monday holiday," Gurman said in a report.

He further stated that the approach strongly suggests that the company will host an in-person event on its Apple Park campus for the iPhone launch, similar to what it did for WWDC in June 2022. However, the presentation itself will still be delivered online—just as Apple has done with events throughout the pandemic—but the company may also show the video live to a crowd at its campus.

He further informed about the dates on which earlier iPhone models were launched and said that prior to the launch of iPhone 14, the launch of iPhone 7 was only this early. "Since Apple began unveiling iPhones in the fall in 2011, there’s only been one launch that was this early: the iPhone 7 in 2016 (prior to 2011, Apple launched new iPhones in June or July)," the report said.

Here is all you need to know about the iPhone launches:

2. iPhone 5 was announced on September 12, 2012 and was released on September 21.

6. iPhone 7 was announced on September 7, 2016 and was released on September 16.

12. iPhone 13 was announced on September 14, 2021 and was released on September 24.

Gurman said, "To me, this means a few things. First, Apple will get an additional week of iPhone 14 sales in its fiscal fourth quarter, which runs through September. Apple had been facing a tough comparison: Its sales rose 29% in the fourth quarter of 2021 from 2020, making it hard to match that growth. Another week of iPhone 14 sales should help the company easily beat last year’s $83 billion mark (indeed, analysts are already projecting revenue of about $89 billion).

Second, the schedule suggests that Apple’s supply chain is still working well—at least when it comes to the iPhone—despite lingering chip shortages and rising costs. The same can’t be said for the Mac and iPad, which suffered from supply constraints last quarter.

Third, Apple wants to create more space ahead of a second event planned for October. In the years before the pandemic, Apple typically launched the new iPhone and Apple Watch together in September, followed by new iPads and Macs together in October. This year is shaping up to be a return to that format, with Apple likely planning for the arrival of new Macs and iPads about a month after the iPhones."
