The iPhone SE is here, but don't ditch your trusty Android yet.
Apple Inc raised many an iPhone hope across India on Monday night, when it issued a press release quoting the starting price of its latest model at ₹30,000. However, before the celebrations could even start, a second release updated the iPhone SE's price at ₹39,000 — a hike that is likely to create a major psychological deterrent against the handset in the cost-conscious South Asian market.

But the phone, which was unveiled at a media conference in Cupertino, San Francisco, still remains the company's cheapest iPhone model to date. It will be available for purchase in India from early April, an NDTV report said.

The iPhone SE, meant to assuage the sentiments of those who didn't feel very comfortable with the unwieldy 6 Plus, will sport a back-to-the-basics four-inch screen. Its hardware specifications, however, will be similar to that of the iPhone 6s.
