Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge's newborn son was mentioned over a million times on Facebook within the first hour of the news.

The social network has said that it is going to update the data as some countries begin to wake up and hear of the birth, CBS News reported.

The top five countries that were buzzing about the royal baby's birth in the first hour of the news were:
1. United Kingdom
2. United States
3. Canada
4. Italy
5. France
