Oculus users were left in a rude shock after the Facebook-owned company said users could not simultaneously use more than one VR headset linked to the same social network account. Oculus later issued a clarification that their Twitter support account had given out incorrect information. It also said that the company would not ban users for using the same Facebook account on two or more Oculus headsets.

Earlier, a Twitter user pointed out that the Oculus’ support team in a forum said using Oculus headsets simultaneously on the same Facebook account will lead to a ban. The support team said that it was against their terms of conditions.

After a brief uproar on social media, Oculus clarified that using the same Facebook account on two headsets will not get the user banned.

“Using the same Facebook account on two or more Oculus headsets simultaneously will NOT get your account “banned.” Having the same account registered to two or more headsets is not against the Facebook Terms of Service,” said Oculus.

The company said that it had provided incorrect information earlier to quickly respond to customer questions.

“As for the customer’s question about enabling their guest to use their secondary device, we plan to introduce the ability for multiple users to log into the same device using their own Facebook account,” it added.

Interestingly enough, some Oculus users were recently locked out of their account. The company, however, was quick to provide users access to their accounts after submitting a report ticket. According to reports, these bans were inadvertently handed out as Facebook periodically weeds out suspicious accounts or those responsible for spreading fake news.
