Battlegrounds Mobile India has emerged as one of the leading games hailing from the Battle Royale genre in a very short span of time. With an ever-increasing player base, the developers of the game, Krafton Inc., keep bringing updates at periodic intervals to enhance players' gaming experience. The game is likely to bring the BGMI 1.9 update very soon. As the players are quite excited about the new update, the developers are testing the new update on Beta version of BGMI and PUBG Mobile. The beta testers can experience the upcoming exclusive features. Here are all the upcoming features and leaks that can be expected about the BGMI 1.9 update.

BGMI 1.9 update: Pre-patch leaks and expected features

1. New floating island in Erangel

A brand new floating island mode is likely to be introduced in the mode select menu of Classic Ranked matches. Players will see a new mode that will have a floating island (Nimbus Island) similar to that of the Mirror World or the previous Ancient Pyramid mode.

2. Mechanical shields and 4th Anniversary event stages

The BGMI 1.9 update will bring mechanical shields that players can build in order to defend themselves from sudden attacks. These shields will be spawned randomly all over the map. Additionally, the update will also have Anniversary celebration stages available on the Erangel map from where players can attain several loot items. There will reportedly be a new floating island mode as well as 4th Anniversary celebration event stages in the game where players will be able to get their hands on high tier loot items.

Though there is no official confirmation date yet, BGMI 1.9 update relase date is expected to be March 18 or on March 19 at 5:30 AM IST on Android devices.
