If you have been following Apple and Epic's recent legal battle, you probably know how ugly things have turned out to be. The gamers on iOS were the ones who suffered the most. However, even Mac users aren't spared now as Epic has announced its Fortnite: Save the World will no longer be playable on macOS. Since the iPhone maker is preventing the game developer to send anymore updates, macOS users won't be able to play Fortnite: Save the World starting September 23. Epic says that “upcoming v14.20 release will cause bugs for players on v13.40, resulting in a very poor experience,” so they had to take this step.

And what about the refunds for those who have purchased Save the World Founder's or Starter Packs? Epic will be refunding all those players. Its valid for those who played Save the World on macOS between September 17, 2019 and September 17, 2020. “Additionally, any purchased V-Bucks spent on Llamas on macOS in this period will also be refunded. As of today, September 17, 2020, Save the World Starter Packs will no longer be available for purchase on macOS,” the post stated.

It has been clearly mentioned that Epic may take up to October 2 to refund all the players. As for the macOS players, they won't need to do anything and they will retain any previously purchased V-Bucks and items in the account.

Also mentioned is that the title will still be available on PCs, PlayStation and Xbox.

The good news is that Fortnite: Battle Royale remains playable for Mac users currently on the v13.40 build. But it won't be receiving any more updates.
