It’s not just the new Batman movie that’s coming. Warner Bros. Games Montreal has unveiled its latest game, Gotham Knights. Apart from a new trailer, the studio also published about 8-minute long gameplay of the upcoming title. The game is set to release in some time in 2021.

    Premise

Gotham Knights is set in a time when the Batman is dead. And now it’s up to other heroes of Gotham to keep the city safe. Characters that are confirmed are Robin, Red Hood, Nightwing, and Batgirl. Dr Freeze will be one of the antagonists.

    Gameplay & Features

Gotham Knights is an open-world, action RPG. Users can patrol Gotham’s five boroughs and drop in on criminal activity wherever they spot it.

The gameplay of Gotham Knights gives away a few important things about the upcoming title. For instance, all enemies show a health bar making it easier for players to go through the stages.

Users can choose to play solo or in two-player co-op. Heroes use a variety of abilities, weapons, and unique combat moves to neutralise their foes.

The gameplay also reveals a few perks such as Robin has access to Justice League’s satellite for short-range teleportation.

Another thing to note is that as the player increases in power and ability their foes keep pace. So, confronting an enemy, say Dr Freeze, will be quite different at level 15 than level 5. This also evolves in terms of attacks and defences as the game progresses.

    Availability

At the moment, there is no official launch date. The studio has shared a 2021 timeline for the roll-out. The game will be available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.
