What is the Minecraft Pride Championship?

Minecraft is a popular building, crafting game, in which gamers have to construct a game and play different game modes (such as battle and survival) in order to be allowed to continue playing. Gamers are able to build vast regions using just their mouse and keyboard - the game is cross-platform and works on smartphones. During these games, participants from various teams compete against each other to win prizes on offer and the winners are declared at the end of the event.

What to expect from the Minecraft Pride Championship?

Dubbed the MC Pride Championships, the event this year will be produced by Minecraft's official partner Noxcrew, which has created a series of minigames for the competition that will span a one day period, while teams of users will compete with each other during the event. The teams include the Red Rabbits, the Orange Ocelots, the Yellow Yaks, the Lime Llamas, the Green Guardians, according to the report. They will all participate in a total of 13 games (such as Bingo But Fast, Ace Race, Skyblockle, Parkour Warrior, Rocket Spleef and more) at the event. Teams with the most coins collected will be matched in a final event where the winner will be declared.

What is the Minecraft Pride Championship prize money?

While many of these events promise a monetary prize, the money from this event will not be given to the participants. This means that while the championship will accept donations while the event is being live-streamed, these contributions along with a $1 lakh ( 74.14 lakh) contribution from YouTube Gaming will go towards the Trevor Project, which works to prevent suicide and provide support for LGBTQ+ youth living in the United States.
