Pokemon Go will celebrate Holi across the world with its Festival of Colors global event. Find out what awaits you on this Holi
The month of March is here, and along with it comes the excitement for Holi. And to increase the excitement for all the fans of the popular augmented reality mobile game, Pokemon Go is going to celebrate Holi with its Festival of Colors event. This will be the second time Niantic, the company behind Pokemon Go, will be celebrating the Indian festival. Last year, the Festival of Colors event was kept at a regional level but this time around, the app is taking the event global. While the company has not revealed everything about the event, based on the activities planned last year, it should be a fun time to collect Pokemon. The event will start on March 15 and will end on March 20, 2022.
Pokemon Go Festival of Colors event to celebrate Holi
In 2021, the in-game regional event for Pokemon Go Festival of colors witnessed a thematic change to the app during the event period. The Pokemon Go Holi event also had a higher frequency of Pokemon associated with different colors with a higher attraction to Incense. Additionally, two new avatar costumes were also released for all trainers during the period.
Pokemon Go also announced two other events last year. One of them was a series of timed research tasks where players received a variety of rewards for completing the tasks. There was also a collaborative India Wayfarer Challenge where Pokemon such as Smeargle and Murkrow were more frequently spotted.
For this year's Pokemon Go Holi special Festival of Colors event, similar events can be expected. While not much has been disclosed on the details of what these events would entail, one thing is confirmed. Just like last year, Pokemon who are attracted to incense will be more frequent and players will stand a chance to catch new Pokemon, including shiny versions. Additionally, there will be timed research tasks with more rewards than normal. It will be interesting to see if any other additional events or costumes are also announced for the event. Niantic has stated that more information will be available soon on all social media handles of Pokemon Go India including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
