The video gaming company PUBG has been introducing attractive features taking the gamers' excitement a notch higher. While its free-to-play version is being hyped, the company is likely to launch PUBG 2 soon. Ever since the news was leaked, the players have been pondering whether both PUBG 2 and PUBG f2p are the same variant. And now some features of the PUBG 2 f2p version have surfaced on the internet.

A few days ago, a popular data miner, PlayerIGN, tweeted some leaked images of the new urban map Kiki that the PUBG f2p version is expected to feature. These pictures were provided by PUBG Studios officially via PUBG Partnership Programs. New features of PUBG 2 (f2p) version

According to the leaked pictures, its new map features an 8×8 flooded city map Kiki, with open fields, swamps, and skyscrapers in a New York-style urban style. The trees shown in one of the pictures look like “Swamp Cypress” found in North America's southern swampy, wet soil coastlines.

Another tweet shows the PUBG's new 8×8 urban map as a tragedy-stricken New Orleans, Louisiana's sinking city (USA). The city surrounded by the Mississippi River, Lake Pontchartrain, and the Gulf of Mexico, is prone to constant flooding, frequent hurricanes, shrinking land and rising sea levels.

Moreover, the PUBG 2 is also likely to have tactical gears: duffel bags and recon drone, new reworked training mode, new AI match mode: players would be able to play real-time matches with bots (AI), assisted healing, quick cover, trap, zone shield, decoy, gear upgrade, gap-closer and vehicle-gear up-gradation system.

Are PUBG free-to-play and PUBG 2 the same?

It is being speculated that the PUBG 2 and PUBG free-to-play versions are the same. While it was officially disclosed that the f2p version will release on January 12, 2022, the PUBG 2 is also rumoured to be released in the year 2022. Hence, it is almost certain that PUBG 2 is the f2p variant.
