Samsung revamps Galaxy Store with key focus on gaming
Samsung Galaxy Store now features only two tabs for games and apps.
Samsung has revamped its Galaxy Store with major focus on gaming. The new Galaxy Store features a curated selection of games, gaming perks and more. Samsung aims to make the Galaxy Store “the mobile destination for gamers.”
Samsung has been increasingly focusing on gaming with the company's partnership with Microsoft. The revamped Galaxy Store now has only two tabs on the screen where one is for apps and the other for games. Under the games tab, Samsung users will find exclusive previews, promos and rewards. The apps tab will feature customised experiences for the Galaxy ecosystem.
“Samsung is relaunching Galaxy Store as the place for casual and hardcore gamers alike to discover exciting gaming experiences and take advantage of unique benefits for Galaxy users,” Samsung said in a release.
Samsung users also get access to Galaxy-exclusive games, rewards and benefits through the Galaxy Store. Samsung users can get perks like a Super Rare Chest for Sonic Forces, credits, tokens and card packs for Asphalt 9: Legends, and premium bags for Lego Legacy: Heroes Unboxed. Samsung also offers reward points with game purchases from the Galaxy Store. These reward points can be used later for future game purchases.
The Galaxy Store also comes with Xbox Games Pass Ultimate along with in-app purchase capabilities for Samsung users. Microsoft's xCloud gaming is available on all Samsung Galaxy smartphones. Samsung users in the US can also download Fortnite from the Galaxy Store. Fortnite is no longer available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
Samsung's latest move can be seen as an effort from the company to provide a better ecosystem for its users. With exclusive access to a popular game like Fortnite, and the redesign, the Galaxy Store is an app market to lookout for.
