Oppo recently launched the Reno 4 series smartphones along with the Oppo Band and the Enco W51 TWS earphones in China. Now, word is that the company is planning to launch a smart TV soon.
The news comes as courtesy of an infographic shared by the company via its official Weibo account to celebrate one year of its commercial 5G efforts in China. “China's 5G has been commercialized for one year. OPPO's forward-looking technology layout and continuous R&D investment continue to promote 5G standard formulation, technical research, product development and application scenario exploration. One year, OPPO & 5G, Is opening the infinite future, a picture to understand how strong OPPO 5G,” Oppo wrote in the post accompanying the infographic.
While three infographics shared by the company highlight the strides made by the company, in terms of research and device launches, in the deployment of 5G connectivity, the fourth infographic lists the devices, other than smartphones, available in the company's ecosystem. The list includes the Oppo Enco W51, the Oppo Watch, the Oppo Band, the Oppo 5G CPE T1 and the Oppo AR headset. The sixth block in the infographic has a device that looks like a smart TV.
Reports of Oppo planning to launch a smart TV have been doing rounds on the internet for quite some time now. However, until now, there was no visible proof that would indicate that the company is indeed working on a smart TV. The latest information shared by the company puts all those doubts to rest and confirms that a smart TV is indeed in works at the company. While the company didn't share a timeline as to when it would make a foray into the world of smart TVs, but with the sister company Realme already launching a smart TV, Oppo shouldn't be far behind.
