Android notifications on Windows 11? That may have been a science fiction thing a few years ago but is now possible! Over the last few years, Microsoft has worked closely with Google and Android OEMs to closely integrate its Windows OS platform with mobile devices. While the integration is not as seamless and efficient as the one between a MacBook and an iPhone, it works in a way to make productivity users happy. And if you want to do that, we are here to help with the steps.

The ability to link your Windows PC and Android phone has been around since 2019 but it has only improved over the years. In 2022, you can integrate your Android phone with your Windows 11 PC using Microsoft's Phone Link app (erstwhile known as Your Phone). All you need to do is follow some easy steps and you can get go in no time. The app not only allows you to check your phone's notifications but also brings the ability to transfer files as well as access all your data, and even make calls.

If you want to enable Android notifications on your Windows PC, here is what you need to do.

How to enable Android notifications on Windows 11 PC

Step 1:

On your Windows 11 PC, open the Start menu and look for “Phone Link”, or “Your Phone”. You will most likely see the app come up. Click on it and choose your Microsoft account.

Step 2:

Now open your Android phone and download the “Link to Windows” app from the Google Play Store. The app is free. If you are using a Samsung phone, this app will already be installed on your device. Open the app and tap on “Link your Phone and PC”.

Step 3:

On your PC, now click on the “I have the Link to Windows app ready”. You will see a QR code pop up, which you will need to scan on your phone. On the phone, tap on the “QR code on your PC is ready” option and scan the code. Windows will ask permission to take pictures and record video, and various other permissions. Keep accepting the next few options and that will do it.

Step 4:

In some cases, your Windows PC will ask you to enter a URL link in your browser instead of scanning the QR code. The URL automatically pairs it in the background.

Step 5:

Once you are done, Windows 11 will shows you around the app and ask you to pic it on the Taskbar. However, you will need to tap on the “Notifications” section from the left menu. Windows will then ask for permission to sync notifications.

Step 6:

Now click on Open settings on phone. On your phone, you see the Device and app notifications menu in settings. Find the Link to Windows app in the list and activate the toggle. Then click Allow.

Step 7:

Once this is done, you will now see all notifications from your Android phone coming to your Windows 11 PC. You will be able to even reply to WhatsApp messages, and even accept calls, provided you are connected via Bluetooth. The best part is that you can link multiple Android phones to your Windows PC using the same steps.
