SBI has announced its WhatsApp banking services! Now, you can check bank balance and mini statements on your WhatsApp account. Just do this.

Now, State Bank of India (SBI) services are available on WhatsApp! India's largest bank, SBI has launched its WhatsApp Banking service. That means you will not need to download a separate new app or go to the ATM to check your SBI account balance. Just open your WharsApp account on your phone and it will let you know your balance in just a few simple steps. SBI shared the information through its official Twitter account, it says, "Your bank is now on WhatsApp. Get to know your Account Balance and view Mini Statement on the go.”

Yes, in addition to account balance, the WhatsApp services will provide you mini bank statements. Moreover, the State Bank of India also offers some other services via WhatsApp such as services to its credit card users with the name of SBI Card WhatsApp connect. This allows SBI credit card users to check details including account summary, reward points, outstanding balance, make card payments, and more.

However, to check the account balance and mini statement, the SBI tweet also shared information on how to avail the WhatsApp service to know all the details. The shared infographic by SBI mentions that to avail of SBI WhatsApp Banking services, you will need to just type a ‘Hi' and send it to the contact number +919022690226.

How to check SBI bank account balance through WhatsApp

Step 1:

First and most important thing to do is to register your account for SBI WhatsApp Banking services, then only you will be able to make use of the SBI WhatsApp services.

Step 2:

To register your bank account with SBI WhatsApp Banking services, send “SMS WAREG A/c No” to 917208933148 from your registered mobile number with the bank. Once the registration is completed, then you can continue to use WhatsApp services of SBI.

Step 3:

Send ‘Hi’ to the number mentioned +919022690226. This will popup a message reading, “Dear Customer, Welcome to SBI Whatsapp Banking Services! Please choose from any of the options below. 1. Account Balance 2. Mini Statement 3. De-register from WhatsApp Banking”

Step 4:

You will need to select option 1 to know your account balance. Just type 1 and it will give you the required details. Similarly, tap 2 to get the mini statement.
