Your digital Avatar can finally be uploaded as a WhatsApp profile picture! Meta's 3D Avatars, initially launched for Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram, which allow you to create and customize an avatar that resembles you, are now available on your instant messaging app WhatsApp. WhatsApp avatar has been part of several leaks and rumours over the last couple of months, but has been officially launched by Meta's WhatsApp now.

WhatsApp says in a blog post, “Your avatar is a digital version of you that can be created from billions of combinations of diverse hairstyles, facial features, and outfits.” It further added, “Sending an avatar is a fast and fun way to share feelings with friends and family. It can also be a great way to represent yourself without using your real photo so it feels more private.”

You can now use these 3D virtual images of yourself on WhatsApp as your profile photo as well as choose from one of 36 custom stickers reflecting many different emotions and actions within the app. WhatsApp further announced that for those who will try these Avatars for the first time will be able to get style enhancements including lighting, shading, hairstyle textures, and more over time.

How to add Avatar as WhatsApp Profile picture

Step 1:

First of all open your WhatsApp and go to Settings while tapping the three dots.

Step 2:

Here you will find the Avatar option. Tap on it and then create your Avatar. 

Step 3:

Follow the steps to create your avatar and once it is completed, tap Done.

Step 4:

Further to set your avatar your profile photo on WhatsApp, go to the settings.

Step 5:

Tap your profile photo and go to the Edit. 

Step 6:

Click on Use Avatar and it will add it to your WhatsApp Profile picture.
