How to create, manage a catalog in WhatsApp Web
This feature was earlier available only in the company's mobile apps.
WhatsApp, earlier this week, released a major update to its business app. The update that was aimed at making it easier for users to shop online includes a feature, which enables users of WhatsApp’s Business apps to create and manage their business catalogs using WhatsApp Web or the company’s desktop-based app.
Earlier, users of WhatsApp’s Business apps, both Android and iOS, could create and manage their product catalogs using the company’s mobile app. Now, the Facebook-owned company is expanding this feature to the web and its desktop app.
“Since many businesses manage their inventory from a computer, this new option will make it quick and easy to add new items or services so their customers know what’s available. This will be extremely helpful for businesses with big inventories like a restaurant or clothing store so they can manage their catalog from a bigger screen,” the company explained in a blog post.
So, here’s how you can create and manage a catalog using WhatsApp Web or its desktop-based app:
Add a product or service to your catalog:
Step 1: Open WhatsApp Business app.
Step 2: Click More button at the top of your chatlist.
Step 3: Now, Click on the Catalog option.
Step 4: Click on Add new item option.
Step 5: Now, Click on Add Images option to upload images from your Photos. You can upload up to 10 images.
Step 6: Provide a product or service name and other details including price, description, link and item code for the uploaded product.
Step 7: Click on ADD TO CATALOG to add the product to your catalog.
Delete a product/service from your catalog:
Step 1: Open the WhatsApp Business app.
Step 2: Click More option at the top of your chatlist and then click on Catalog option.
Step 3: Select the product or service you wish to delete.
Step 4: Scroll to the bottom of the product detail section.
Step 5: Click on the Delete Item option and then click on Ok option.
