WhatsApp, earlier this year, rolled out support for dark theme on its Android and iOS based apps. While there have been plenty of reports that have hinted towards the fact that the feature would arrive on WhatsApp Web soon, however, the feature is yet to make a debut on the company’s web-based platform.

Now, WABetaInfo, the blog that tracks developments in WhatsApp, has found a way around this issue. The blog site has listed a trick using which WhatsApp users can enable dark theme on WhatsApp as they access it from their personal computers and laptops.

It is worth noting that this is only a temporary workaround and users will have to use this trick again if they refresh their browser windows or if they access WhatsApp Web from a different PC.

So, here is a step-by-step guide on how to enable dark mode on WhatsApp Web:

Step 1: Log into WhatsApp via the company’s official site.

Step 2: Right click the mouse outside the chat and click on “Inspect” option.

Step 3:Now you will see the console and code of the page. Scroll down on the page to find the string that says ‘body class=”web”‘.

Step 4: In the same string replace ‘web’ with ‘web dark’.

Step 5: Confirm by tapping on the Enter key and it’s done!
