How to make Remix Reels on Instagram
Remix on Reels basically allows users to interact with other reels, create their own versions of it and upload it alongside the original one.
Instagram's new Remix option on Reels is now live on both Android and iOS. This new feature, which is exactly like ‘Duets' on TikTok, allows you to create your own take on Reels made by others.
TikTok's Duets is extremely popular and thus it is not surprising to see Instagram add its own version of it. This will also help Instagram score some extra points in places like India where TikTok still remains banned.
Remix on Reels basically allows users to interact with other reels, create their own versions of it and upload it alongside the original one.
Instagram explained that the Remix feature is enabled by default for all new Reels you publish from a public account. To enable Remix on older Reels, you need to tap on the three-dot menu and click on “Enable Remixing”.
Now, if you want to remix someone else's Reel, you have to ask them to enable remixing. Also, you can turn off Remix at any point in time for all Reels from the Settings menu or do it individually for a particular reel by clicking on the three-dot menu and turning it off.
As someone creating Reels you have full control over whether you want to allow others to Remix it or not. But for starters, it is switched on by default for all public profiles. This has been done to give other users more clips to create Remixes with.
And, if someone does make a Remix of your Reel, you will be notified.
