WhatsApp is one of the most convenient apps to connect with your friends, family, and colleagues but the same app can be complicated to use when you have two phones. Officially, if you want to use your WhatsApp account on two phones, then that won't be possible! "There is no option to have a WhatsApp account with two phone numbers," says WhatsApp. So that means you can't use your registered WhatsApp account on two different phones. If you are shifting from one phone to another or using two devices then you will need to deactivate the WhatsApp account from the previous phone. That means taking a data back-up, then downloading it to the new device. But wait! What if we tell you there is a way to use your WhatsApp on more than one phone? Well, it is a tricky exercise and does not exactly give a great experience, but it does provide a basic WhatsApp connection on two phones. Here's what you need to do..

How to use WhatsApp on two phones

So, there is no official way to use your WhatsApp on two different devices. But the good news is you can take advantage of WhatsApp Web for this purpose. How? Consider your first smartphone in which you have installed the WhatsApp application. And now bring the second smartphone in which you want to clone WhatsApp and have access to all the media, chats and contacts from the first device. All you will need to do is to open WhatsApp web on the second smartphone which allows using the same account on different devices. Here is a step-by-step guide to enable the same WhatsApp account on two phones. Do remember that you need to connect to WhatsApp desktop version.

How to use WhatsApp on more than one phone

Step 1:

On your second phone open the internet browser. 

Step 2:

Then, visit https://web.whatsapp.com to open the WhatsApp web.

Step 3:

Now, you will need to request the desktop version of WhatsApp web.

Step 4:

Here, you will see a QR code to link to the other device. 

Step 5:

Now open your WhatsApp on the first phone. Go to the Settings via the three dots.

Step 6:

Find the 'Link a Device' option and tap on it. It will now open the option to scan a QR code. 

Step 7:

Scan the QR code from the second phone and it will open the same WhatsApp account on another phone. 

Step 8:

This way, you can link more than even two devices with your single WhatsApp number.

Step 9:

Oh yes, if the experience is not exactly the best, then that is right. It simply provides an opportunity to do some basic stuff on WhatsApp desktop since it is not meant for phones.
