What will you do to find a thief who stole something precious you have? A man named Lewis Ellis flew 4000 miles and spent £2,300 to find the thief who stole his Apple AirPods, according to a report by The Sun. As per the report, he located his earphone after seeing them travel from Qatar to Nepal to Thailand and back over the course of five months. Ellis had lost his buds in a flight while he was travelling from Bangkok to Doha. As he realised that he had left the AirPods while getting off the flight, he wanted to get back in to collect it. However, the airline staff told him he could not go back to the plane to retrieve them, but not to worry as he would be in the same seat on his way home to Manchester.
But, when he went to the flight to Manchester, the buds were not there. He later decided to use his iPhone's "Find My" feature to see where they had got to, and was shocked to know that they were on the move. Lewis observed his AirPods travelling from Qatar to Kathmandu, Nepal, before heading to a small village in the Himalayan mountains, as per the report. The buds then took a short jaunt to Thailand before finally coming to rest back in Doha.
Lewis then decided to fly over to claim his AirPods back. "I had the joy of watching them travel the world for no less than five months," he said as quoted by The Sun. The report further informed that despite his friends describing Lewis as "the pettiest man in Britain", he spent £1,200 on the flights, £500 on a hotel and another £300 to hire a car.
But, after travelling for more than 4,000 miles, he finally got his AirPods in a building owned by airport staff. Lewis said, "My friends literally said 'this is the pettiest thing ever'. I'll admit it was petty, yes. But I literally ran around jumping for joy when I found them. I honestly didn't think I would."
