WhatsApp to let you see OLD group members! Here is how you can do so

WhatsApp is working on a feature which will let you view a list of past participants in groups. Here is all you need to know.

How many groups do you have on WhatsApp? WhatsApp users can create a group and add up to 512 people to it. Similarly, the admin of the group also has an option to remove participants from the group. But, as of now there is no such feature to let you view the list of past participants in your group. However, according to a latest update WhatsApp is working on the same for a future update of the app. Informing about the same, WABetaInfo tweeted, "WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.16.0.70: what's new? WhatsApp is working on viewing a list of past participants in your groups, for a future update of the app!"

Earlier in a report, WABetaInfo had informed that the messaging application is working on the ability to silently leave groups without other group participants getting notified about the same. However, the group admins can know who exited the group. And now, with the help of the feature called “past participants” which will be rolled out in future, all the group members will be able to see who leaves the group.

"We already anticipated this feature in a previous changelog of WhatsApp beta for Android, and the feature is now under development on WhatsApp beta for iOS as well," WABetaInfo said. It further informed that all group members will be able to view who left the group in the past 60 days by opening this new section that will be available right within group info.

However, the exact date when the feature will be rolled out or released is not yet known as this feature is under development. Meanwhile if you are a WhatsApp group admin and want to add to remove participants, here is how you can do it.

WhatsApp group: How to add participants

1. Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject. Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab. Then, tap More options > Group info.

2. Click on Add participants and search for or select contacts to add to the group.

3. You will have to click the green check mark when you are finished.

WhatsApp Group: How to remove participants

Step 1:

Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject. Alternatively, click and hold the group in the CHATS tab. Then, tap More options > Group info.

Step 2:

Click the participant you want to remove and then tap Remove {participant} > OK.
