Apple launches upgraded 27-inch iMac along with new 21.5-inch Mac and iMac Pro

Apple has updated the 21.5-inch iMac and iMac Pro as well, both of which start at $1,099 (roughly 82,000) and $4,999 (roughly 3.7 lakhs) respectively.

Apple has launched its updated version of iMac in the US. The new 27-inch iMac features faster Intel processors up to 10 cores, double the memory capacity, next-generation AMD graphics, fast SSDs and more. It is priced at $1,799 (roughly 1.35 lakhs) and will be available to order today on in the US. It will begin arriving to customers and will be in select Apple Store locations and Apple Authorized Resellers starting this week. 

In addition to this, the company has updated the 21.5-inch iMac and iMac Pro as well, both of which start at $1,099 (roughly 82,000) and $4,999 (roughly 3.7 lakhs) respectively.

The new 27-inch iMac feature latest 6-core and 8-core 10th-generation Intel processors. It also gets the 10-core processor option for the first time, with Turbo Boost speeds up to 5.0GHz. The RAM capacity support goes up to 128GB. All this comes in addition to this, 27-inch iMac gets next-generation AMD GPU - Radeon Pro 5000 series with up to 6GB of memory for the first time.

Furthermore, the new iMac now has SSDs with up to 3.4GB/s. It also supports an 8TB SSD option for the first time. Besides this, you get Apple’s custom designed T2 Security chip for data encryption.

As for the 5K Retina display, the 27-inch iMac features 14.7 million pixels, 1 billion colors, 500 nits of brightness, and support for P3 wide color and True Tone technology. There’s also a nano-texture glass option — first introduced on Pro Display XDR — for better viewing under various lighting conditions.

Apple has also upgraded the FaceTime HD camera with 1080p resolution and studio-quality microphone array.

The new 21.5-inch iMac come standard with SSDs across the line for the first time. It can also be configured with a Fusion Drive. On the other hand, the upgraded iMac Pro is powered by a 10-core Intel Xeon processor up to 18 cores, graphics performance up to 22 teraflops, up to 256GB quad-channel ECC memory and a 27-inch Retina 5K display.
