We are just a couple of days away from the Surface hardware event on September 22. Microsoft is expected to announce a slew of surface products including the Microsoft Surface Pro 8, Surface Laptop 4 and more. However, well ahead of the launch, a Microsoft Surface Pro 8 leak has splashed the details online. What is more, it is likely that this is the retail listing of the product. As per a tweet that leaked this information, the Surface Pro 8 will have thinner bezels on the sides. Moreover, the device could have support for a 120Hz refresh rate, which would be a first on the Surface Pro series.

The latest leak comes from Twitter account Shadow_Leaker who posted (via The Verge) the retail image of a purported Microsoft Surface Pro 8. However, Windows Central reports that the render is actually of the Surface Pro X. However, the specs reveal could very well be accurate. Earlier reports had stated that the Surface Pro 8 would ship without USB-A ports. Now, the latest leak revealed that the upcoming product could have a USB-C and Thunderbolt combination on the device. Hence, enhancing the versatility of the device. The Surface Pro 8 could come equipped with as many as ttwo Thunderbolt ports.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 8 could be powered by 11th-gen Intel Core processors. It is likely to feature a 13-inch display that is said to have support for a 120Hz refresh rate -- a first for the Surface Pro series. Moreover, the upcoming Surface Pro 8 could have dual Thunderbolt interfaces, and replaceable SSDs which we've seen on the Surface Pro X and Surface Laptop line previously. Plus, the device is expected to run Windows 11 out of the box.

The addition of Thunderbolt port would be a major boost for the Surface Pro line, which has up until now used only the proprietary Surface port and USB-C interfaces for data. The addition of Thunderbolt port means you can potentially add external GPUs for gaming and other devices that require more speed and bandwidth. Additionally, this will be the first time that a Surface device would have a 120Hz refresh rate. The feature isn't part of any of the Surface products.
