Samsung Galaxy Book laptops coming to India

While the exact prices are yet to be revealed, the Samsung executive has confirmed that the entire laptop range will start at a price of Rs. 40,000 in India. This could make it the most affordable range of Windows laptops we could be seeing in India. At launch, Samsung will also bring cash back offers and bundled gifts for customers who pre-book the new models.

The Galaxy Book Go will be the most affordable device in Samsung's laptop lineup. The Galaxy Book Go is said to be aimed at students and those customers who want something lightweight on the go. This model will help Samsung take on the Realme and Xiaomi laptops in the sub-Rs. 50,000 space.

However, while Realme and Xiaomi offer Intel processors at this price range, it is Samsung offering a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 platform chip to power the laptop. Samsung claims up to 18 hours of battery life and offers a 180-degree hinge. India will only get the Wi-Fi variant while global markets get the 5G variant of the same.

What remains to be seen is how the rest of the models are priced in India. With Apple dominating the high-end segment of the laptop market in India, will Samsung take the fight to the popular Apple MacBook Air, or even the 13-inch MacBook Pro? We will have to wait and see.
