Xiaomi tablet teased for India

The Xiaomi Pad 5 and Pad 5 Pro are two of the company's high-end tablet models selling in China. If you seek the specs, have a quick look. Both models feature an 11-inch 2.5K IPS LCD display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a 240Hz sampling rate for the stylus.

These tablets are known for their performance though. The Xiaomi Pad 5 gets the Snapdragon 860 chipset whereas the Pro variant gets the more powerful Snapdragon 870 chipset. Similar to the iPad range, you get both Wi-Fi only and 5G variant. The base Pad 5 gets up to 6GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Pro variant gets a tweaked 8GB + 256GB.

As for the battery, the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro relies on a 8600mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. The regular model gets a bigger 8720mAh battery. Both the Xiaomi Pad 5 models feature 13MP rear cameras on the rear, with the exception of the Pro variant getting an extra 5MP depth sensor. The Pro model supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 but the standard model supports Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0.

What remains to be seen is which price segment does Xiaomi plan to enter with its tablet range. Based on the specs of the Pad 5 series, these could directly compete with the base iPad model.
