Ahead of iPhone SE 3 launch, will iPhone SE 2020 price be cut in a big way?

Apple is all set to launch the next iPhone SE 3, which is tipped to be an affordable, as well as a 5G, phone. But will the previous iPhone SE 2020 get a price cut?

The next iPhone SE 3 is making a lot of noise on the Internet ahead of its launch! From its expected price, memory variants and more, the iPhone SE 3 has become a hot topic of discussion. And it does make sense! After all, Apple is set to launch a very affordable iPhone - the iPhone SE 3. What is more, it is going to be a 5G phone. The last iPhone SE was rolled out back in 2020, which was a 4G smartphone and since then Apple fans have been eyeing the launch of Apple's next ‘Special Edition' iPhone. And finally, the time is almost here as the phone expected to be launched during Apple's Sping event 2022 on March 8.

Having said that, some leaks around the iPhone SE 3 provide relief while a few are disappointing. The good news is that the iPhone SE 2022 might be launched as the ‘most affordable iPhone ever'! Yes, you read it right! The 5G supported iPhone SE 3 price could start at just $300, analyst John Donovan suggested. Which will make it even cheaper than the previous iteration iPhone SE 2020 and half the price of the iPhone 12 mini. And at this affordable price, iPhone SE 3 will sport the Apple A15 Bionic chipset which we have seen in the latest iPhone 13 series along with the 5G connectivity.

However, some analysts are saying that this is a great chance for Apple to cut the price of iPhone SE 2020 to under $200 and thereby lure Android phone users by the millions!

First, know that you won't find much difference to the iPhone SE 3 design from the previous models. It will feature more or less the same design as the iPhone SE 2020. Second, the latest leak from tipster Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that iPhone SE 3 is expected to provide the same storage configurations as the iPhone SE 2020.

Now, keeping everything about the upcoming iPhone SE 3 in mind, will this have any major impact on the price of the iPhone SE 2020? In short, will the iPhone SE 2020 price fall in a major way?

iPhone SE 2020 to get a huge price cut?

If this comes true, then the iPhone SE 2020 price cut will come a big and welcome surprise for Apple fans. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, "A device priced at $200 could make inroads in regions like Africa, South America and parts of Asia that are currently Android strongholds. That would let Apple Inc. sign up more customers for services, potentially making a low-end iPhone quite lucrative for Apple in the long run." And this makes more sense, as the next iPhone SE will be even cheaper than the launch price of its 2020 version. Plus, the price cut on iPhone SE 2020 will expand the reach of Apple to those who are not too fascinated with 5G connectivity, but are still looking for an affordable iPhone. Gurman further says that, “It's unclear if Apple will ever actually take this step, but there may be no better time than the release of the 5G iPhone SE next month.”
