Apple iPhone 12 dummy units photographed, hints at a decade-old design

That’s not surprising since the previous leaks and rumours have pointed out the same. It is just that these have been shown in images this time, so you get a better idea.

It is that time of the year when the smartphone case makers start receiving dummy units of the upcoming iPhones so they can start making cases by the time the devices launch. And thanks to these dummy units, we now have a clearer look at how these upcoming iPhone 12 devices will look like. Shared by Apple fan community in Israel called HaAppleistim (via 9to5Mac), the images suggest them to have an iPhone 4 like design. The handset came back in 2010. 

Now that's not surprising since the previous leaks and rumours have pointed out the same. It is just that these have been shown in images this time, so you get a better idea.

As one can see in the images, the back-camera setup carries the same squarish setup. However, the number of lenses inside the setup might be different this time. In addition, at the bottom you will likely see dual speakers with a charging port in the centre. 

Since these dummy units are made solely for case makers, they don't focus on bringing each and every design change such as the number of camera lenses, notch size and more. That's because of the case shape is not governed by these factors. 

But nonetheless, those who always the iPhone 4 or iPhone 5 design in iPhones, will finally be getting them this year.

Apple is expected to launch four iPhones in September or October under its iPhone 12 series. The lower end models might be the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max, while the higher-end versions might fall under the ‘iPhone 12 Pro Max' moniker. Also, the iPhone 12 and 12 Max is said to feature 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch screen sizes, while the rumoured iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max might sport 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screens.
