With the confirmation for the Apple event on March 8, there are many reasons to be excited for. But among them all, the biggest hype is around the expected launch of iPhone SE 2022. The third generation of Apple's affordable SE series has been making headlines for months although nothing much about the smartphone is actually confirmed. While Apple has kept things quiet at their end, rumor mills have made quite a lot of predictions about this upcoming smartphone. So let us check out the expected features and price for iPhone SE 2022 (which could be named iPhone SE 3 or iPhone SE 5G as well).

iPhone SE 2022 expected price

The predecessor of the much hyped smartphone, iPhone SE 2020, came out in 2020 and was priced at Rs. 39,900, making it the most affordable iPhone in Apple's lineup. The iPhone SE 2022 is going to be a lot cheaper than the previous generation, if the leaks are to be believed. According to reports, the iPhone SE 3 with 5G support may just cost $300. A rough exchange puts it just under Rs. 23,000. However, the final price for the smartphone can be a lot different. But in any case, the SE series will continue to be affordable as it is supposed to be the entry-level iPhone.

iPhone SE 2022 features

According to multiple reports and Apple tipsters, the iPhone SE 2022 will be based on the retro iPhone 8 design. The smartphone is expected to feature a 4.7-inch LCD display, and will lack either an AMOLED screen or any high refresh rate, which has become more frequent in this price segment.

The iPhone SE 3 may surprise us with the Apple A15 Bionic chip, which will massively boost its performance compared to the older iPhone SE 2020. For the reference, A15 bionic chipset was also used in the iPhone 13 lineup, which is also the most advanced processor that Apple has released for its iPhone devices.

There are rumors about the camera of the iPhone SE 2022 as well. Leaks suggest that it will continue to have the 12MP single rear camera and a 7MP front camera. While that is not at all reassuring, it remains to be seen if Apple has improved the processing ability to make the camera work better. The battery of iPhone SE 3 has not been noted to have a significant improvement, which might be an annoyance for many as its predecessor struggled to last an entire day and with the 5G chip in the scenario, the battery life may see further decline.

With all being said, do remember that all of these are mere rumors and it is worth taking it with a grain of salt. The launch event is scheduled for March 8 at 11:30PM IST and any interested shopper should wait till the official launch before making their minds up.
