Apple iPhone X falls 11,000 feet from plane, but SURVIVES
In what could possibly be the most miraculous of smartphone escapes so far, an Apple iPhone X accidentally dropped from a plane reportedly survived without damage. Here’s what you need to know about the incident.
It is normal to be scared when you accidentally drop your smartphone on the ground. The scare continues till you have checked to see if the phone has been damaged or not. Many of us have damaged a phone or two due to mishaps over the years. These have often made big holes in our pockets. However, we occasionally hear stories about how smartphones survive against the most difficult of odds after being dropped, and the latest survivor tale is of an Apple iPhone that passed the drop-test with “flying colours”. In this case, it was not a simple drop of a few feet. It was of 11,000 feet!
A pilot reportedly dropped his smartphone from a plane at the height of 11,000 feet. He was left shocked and awed when he was able to recover it, as it was functioning perfectly. In fact, it was recovered in perfect working condition with no damage at all.

The owner of the iPhone X took to an online forum to post about this incredible survival tale, which was first spotted by WCCF Tech. The man posted on the Diamond Aviators forums that he wanted to take photos of clouds while flying in a plane. Unfortunately, the plane was buffeted by strong winds and the turbulence caused him to drop the iPhone out of the small window. The iPhone was sucked out of the window and was lost, according to the report.
While the pilot had given up hope of finding the phone, he tried to wipe it as a safety measure and was reportedly stunned when he found that it was working. The report quotes the pilot as stating the phone was located at Blythe, Arkansas. While the owner first thought the it was damaged beyond repair, it turns out that the phone appears to be working normally.
For readers wondering how the iPhone X survived the extreme fall without a scratch, the pilot has a plausible explanation. It was recovered among thick soybean crops that could have broken its fall. However, it must also be noted that the smartphone was in a rugged case as well, which could have further shielded it from damage. Either way, it looks like the owner, who was planning on upgrading their four-year-old iPhone X to a 5G enabled model can now wait a little longer as the smartphone appears to be in perfect working condition and now, there is also some sentimental value attached to it..
