Smartphone users are open to the idea of refurbished phones, and here Apple iPhones topped the list. (Pixabay)

We all are aware of the popularity of the Apple iPhones. The same has now been echoed in the latest survey conducted by Cashify. It revealed that Apple iPhones are the most preferred smartphones for Delhiites. Based on Cashify's Whitepaper survey, a total of 18 percent of iPhone users are residents of Delhi. The survey has been conducted on 6000 people across various states. Bangalore and Mumbai followed with 11 percent and 10 percent of iPhone users. "Delhi has always been a favoured location for Apple, with over 18 percent of iPhone users being a testament to the fact. Bangalore and Mumbai are next on the list of Apple owners, coming in second and third place correlatively," Cashify mentioned in its report.

Looking at the popularity of the refurbished smartphone market these days, the survey shows that 85 percent of the users are open to the idea of refurbished smartphones. For those who are not aware, refurbished smartphones are not newly packed devices, instead, these smartphones are re-packed after several quality checks to resell at an affordable price.

Refurbished smartphone trend

The survey conducted by Cashify revealed that affordability is a key factor behind the emerging trend of refurbished smartphones. 78 percent of people who bought a second-hand or pre-owned smartphone had an income of less than Rs. 30,000. The report mentioned that “With Xiaomi, Apple, and Samsung releasing new phones every year, it's no surprise that they're at the top of the buyback market."

Not sure which
mobile to buy?

Xiaomi topped the list of most selling smartphone brands by consumers to Cashify with a massive 25 percent, while Apple and Samsung followed the list with 16 percent and 15 percent. However, it was Apple's iPhone 7 that grabbed the top spot as the most-sold model with a share of 23 percent. The Redmi Note 5 Pro made it to the second spot. Again Delhi people sold the most used phones in 2021.
