Apple set to take critical iPhone SE 3 step; big threat for Android

Apple iPhone SE 3 has been in the news recently due to the threat it poses for Android.

Apple iPhone SE 3 has been tipped to enter the trial production phase soon. The smartphone is expected to be launched by spring 2022. The iPhone is speculated to be powered by the company's A15 Bionic SoC and may come with 3GB of RAM and 5G connectivity. Reportedly, it may pose a big threat to Android as it is perceived to lure a huge number of those smartphone users to Apple.

The iPhone SE 3 trial production claim has been made in a recent report by ITHome. The portal citing the supply chain sources said that Apple is about to conduct trial production of the iPhone SE 3 in the near future.” The portal has revealed some expected features where the phone is said to be equipped with a 4.7-inch Retina HD LCD display and a Home button with an embedded fingerprint sensor. The handset is expected to come with a single, improved 12-megapixel camera sensor and an external X60M 5G baseband chip. It is likely to be equipped with an Apple A15 Bionic SoC paired with 3GB of RAM, and 4GB of RAM.

A Macotakara blog had earlier tipped that the upcoming Apple iPhone SE 3 may also support the Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 5G modem chip just like the iPhone 13 series. The blog also suggested that its production will start around December 2021 and the commercial launch may take place somewhere around the spring of 2022.

Leaked renders have also claimed that the phone may have a flat frame resembling the design of the iPhone 12 series. On the back, iPhone SE 3 is likely to feature a single camera sensor along with an LED flash similar to iPhone SE and iPhone SE (2020).

Moreover, JP Morgan analysts have claimed that the phone will come at a budget-friendly price and may target the mid-range smartphone market. It is likely to have the potential to lure nearly 1.4 billion low- to mid-end Android phone users as well as about 300 million customers using older iPhone models.

Meanwhile, Apple is speculated to work on an iPhone SE 3 variant that supports a 6.1-inch screen. The new variant may launch in 2023 and is likely to feature a hole-punch display rather than a notch.
