Apple takes MAJOR step to ensure iPhone 14 launch is not delayed

Apple has decided to expand its suppliers for iPhone 14 high-end models to ensure the launch is on time.

Apple iPhone 14 launch has been facing difficulties due to several reasons. One of the main ones is the concern regarding the supply of iPhone 14 panels. Earlier, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared that Apple's partners are experiencing supply issues for the iPhone 14 model. Previous leaks and rumours suggest that the next Apple iPhone 14 series is expected to make its debut in September 2022. So, will there be any delays in iPhone 14 launch due yo these reasons? Will Apple fans have to wait a bit longer than expected to experience the new iPhone 14 series?

Thankfully, it doesn't seem so! To avoid iPhone 14 launch delays during the fall event of 2022, Apple has been forced to take a major step. Apple has diversified its component suppliers ahead of the iPhone 14 launch. This will not only reduce the iPhone-maker's dependence on a single supplier but also allow the company to have a stronger bargaining position. This news comes from the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who had said that Apple is facing supply issues.

SG Micro will help Apple for iPhone 14 supply

"SG Micro has passed the quality certification of the higher-end iPhone 14 and will likely ship the PMICs (battery and level shifter) for the iPhone 14 in 2H22," Kuo's tweet informed. This will be the first time for SG Micro to ship Apple's high-end products- iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. This also indicates that Apple is expecting its revenue contribution from these high-end phones will increase significantly and it is therefore, boosting production to new highs.

Kuo says that Apple's orders will also become another significant revenue and profit driver for SG Micro in addition to being one of the primary beneficiaries of the domestic replacement policy in China. “It's expected to see SG Micro's market share in Apple's supply chain continue to grow thanks to the cost advantages and Apple's supply chain management policy of lowering supply risks,” he added.

This flagship series of Apple is tipped to launch four new Apple smartphones - a 6.1-inch iPhone 14, its larger display version the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max (or Plus), a 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, and the most specced variant, a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max.
