Apple's upcoming iPhone, tipped as the iPhone 13, is heavily rumored to bring 12Hz refresh rate in ‘Pro' models. Now, a new patent has been published by USPTO reconfirming the speculation and even hinting that the company's future iPhones might feature more than 120Hz, refresh rate display.

According to the patent, an iPhone display with high refresh rate mode enabled might be able to update content at two times, three times or even four times the native refresh rate. This means that the refresh rate of the display can be changed from 60Hz all the way to 120Hz, 180Hz and 240Hz automatically.

In case you are unaware, early last year it was rumored that the iPhone 12 series will come with a 120Hz refresh rate screen since all the other Android rivals already got it. However, that never happened. One of the reasons why Apple was said to stay away from high refresh rate was because it may have consumed more battery and have affected the overall battery performance of the device.

However, now the company is rumored to bring LTPO, which is a low-power display panel for the upcoming iPhone 13 models. According to the Patently Apple website that found the patent, it has been speculated that the technology might not be limited to iPhones but me reach future iPads, Apple Watch models and even the rumored Apple AR Glass.
