Apple won't launch new iPhone SE in first half of 2021: Kuo

Kuo hasn't specified when or if Apple will launch a new iPhone SE.

Apple launched the 2020 version of iPhone SE earlier this year in April. Looks like Apple won't follow a similar launch time for the next-gen iPhone SE. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple isn't planning to launch a new iPhone SE in the first half of 2021.

Kuo did not specify when Apple would launch the new iPhone SE next year, or if it all it's in the cards, according to a report by My Fix Guide. If the launch is reserved for the second half then we would most likely see it launch alongside the iPhone 13 series. Apple is reportedly planning four iPhone 13 models this time too so adding another one might seem quite messy.

Apple upgraded the affordable iPhone SE four years after it launched the first one. The low-cost iPhone launched at a starting price of ₹42,500 in India. It received a price cut after the iPhone 12 series debuted. iPhone SE has also emerged as the second best-selling smartphone globally, a few millions shy of iPhone 11.

The new iPhone SE is expected to feature a 6-inch LCD display. It is also said to sport a dual rear camera setup which would be the same as the iPhone 11. Apple is also expected to continue with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor on next year's iPhone SE.

Reliable leaks and reports on the next-gen iPhone SE haven't sprung up yet so it's too early to say if we will see an upgrade or not. But a new version of the iPhone SE will add to the wide number of iPhone options Apple currently offers.
