Asus gears up for Zenfone 7 series launch on August 26
Asus will launch Zenfone 7 series on August 26. The flagship smartphone series is expected to come with upgraded specifications and features.
Asus is getting ready to launch its new flagship smartphone, Zenfone 7. The new smartphone series is set to launch on August 26. Ahead of the official release, Asus has also posted a livestream link on YouTube where users can set a reminder.
It is worth noting that Asus is using “series” branding with its flagship smartphone. It means Asus will launch multiple versions of Asus Zenfone 7, akin to Samsung's Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20, and Apple's iPhone 11.
There is very little known about the Zenfone 7 series so far. It is safe to predict the flagship smartphone series may come with Qualcomm's top-end Snapdragon 865 processor. The company may also use an upgraded version of the chip, Snapdragon 865 Plus.
Asus had made a lot of big changes with the last year's 6Z. The phone came with an interesting flip camera module with a notch-less display on the front. The camera module featured a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor and a 13-megapixel 125-degree wide-angle sensor.
In terms of specifications, Asus 6z had a 6.4-inch Full HD+ NanoEdge display with Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It ran on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. It also supported expandable storage via a microSD card slot. One of the big changes included a near-stock Android-like interface. Asus 6z is eligible for Android Q beta update and future Android R OS.
