Asus Zenfone 7 to feature flip cameras like the Asus 6z
Asus Zenfone 7 teaser hints at the possibility of a flip camera mechanism like the one on the Asus 6z.
Asus is set to launch its next-generation flagship smartphone, Zenfone 7. The new smartphone is scheduled to launch on August 26. A new teaser for the Zenfone 7 reveals Asus is bringing the flip camera we saw in the Asus 6z.
Based on a teaser video shared by the official Asus Deutschland Twitter account shows a sneak peek of the Zenfone 7. The very short video clip shows the front panel of the Zenfone 7 which confirms there's no presence of a notch or punch-hole cameras. The teaser video also mentions the word “flip” hinting at the return of the flip camera mechanism. It's not confirmed though if the Zenfone 7 will have the same flip camera design as last year's Asus 6z.

It's a little surprising though since most phones now go for the punch-hole camera design. There are still phones that offer the pop-up selfie camera. Flip cameras on the Zenfone 7 would still be unique since there's hardly any new phone opting for this design.
Asus already has the YouTube livestream video set up for the launch event. Here, it mentions the Zenfone 7 series so more than one phone is expected from Asus. What's confirmed so far is that the Zenfone 7 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 chipset. The smartphone was also spotted on Geekbench with the same chipset. This will be the second Asus phone with the Snapdragon 865 chipset after the ROG Phone 3.
Based on the Geekbench listing, the Zenfone 7 packs 16GB of RAM and runs on Android 10 out-of-the-box. There's also a Zenfone 7 Pro with a 5,000mAh battery in the works based on a new leak by Roland Quandt. According to this leak, the Zenfone 7 Pro with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage will cost 550 euros ( ₹49,100 approx), and the 6GB+128GB variant will be priced at 500 euros ( ₹44,700 approx).
