Asus Zenfone 8 key specifications leaked: Here’s what to expect
Asus is gearing up for the launch of the Zenfone 8 series on May 12. The smartphone series is said to come with at least two models – Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip. Ahead of the official launch, full specifications of the Zenfone 8 have leaked online.
According to leakster Mukul Sharma, Asus Zenfone 8 aka Zenfone 8 mini will come with a 5.9-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, Corning Gorilla Glass protection, and an under-display fingerprint reader. The leakster adds the handset will run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 processor coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage. It will pack a 4,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.

In the photography department, Zenfone 8 mini will offer a 64-megapixel primary sensor on the back. The combination will include a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor and a macro sensor. On the front, Zenfone 8 will have a 12-megapixel selfie camera. According to the leakster, the phone will offer EIS on both cameras. Other camera features are 8K and 4K slow-mo at 120fps.
Asus Zenfone 8 will feature Hi-Fi audio playback via the headphone jack, dual-speakers and will come with a linear vibration motor. The smartphone is also rumoured to come with OZO audio support. Connectivity options on the phone are USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack, 5G support, Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6. On the software front, it will run on Android 11-based ZenUI 8.
The latest info is pretty much in line with a series of Zenfone 8 (mini)leaks that have surfaced online so far. As of now, there is no word on the pricing of the phone. Based on the last generation flagship phones, we can expect the upcoming Zenfone 8 mini to be targeted at the lower spectrum of the premium segment.
