"My latest survey indicates that the volume button and power button of two high-end iPhone 15/2H23 new iPhone models may adopt a solid-state button design (similar to the home button design of iPhone 7/8/SE2 & 3) to replace the physical/mechanical button design," he tweeted. 3/5 In a series of tweets, the analyst further informed that there will be Taptic Engines located on the internal left and right sides to provide force feedback to make users feel like they are pressing physical buttons. He went on to say that due to this design change, the number of Taptic Engines used in each iPhone will increase from the current one to three. As a result, the existing Taptic Engine suppliers, Luxshare ICT (1st supplier) and AAC Technologies (2nd supplier) will be significant beneficiaries. (AFP)

Apple's next big release, iPhone 15 is expected to take place in 2023 and leaks and reports have been popping up fast and furious about the fancied tech it may pack. Among the much awaited specs is the much touted in-house iPhone 15 modem. And as per the latest detail, the iPhone 15 5G modem is not going to be from Apple. But then the question is- what will the iPhone 15 get? According to a report by Bloomberg, Qualcomm Inc will continue to provide the modem chips for a vast majority of iPhones in 2023.

"Qualcomm had planned to only provide about 20% of the 5G modem parts for the new iPhones in 2023, but now expects to retain its current foothold, according to comments that accompanied its earnings report Wednesday. The statement confirmed that Apple won't be moving to its own in-house modem design for next year's models," Bloomberg's report stated.

Earlier this year Bloomberg had informed that Apple's efforts have been stymied by prototype versions of the modems overheating and that the company wouldn't begin a switch until 2024 at the earliest. Qualcomm continues to assume it will only receive minimal revenue contributions from Apple in fiscal 2025.

Earlier, the analyst had informed that the volume button and the power button of two high end iPhone 15 models may adopt a solid state button design similar to home button design of iPhone 7/8/SE2 and 3. He tweeted, "My latest survey indicates that the volume button and power button of two high-end iPhone 15/2H23 new iPhone models may adopt a solid-state button design (similar to the home button design of iPhone 7/8/SE2 & 3) to replace the physical/mechanical button design."

Analyst Kuo had also said that Apple is expected to create massive differentiation between iPhone 15 Pros and iPhone 15 standard models. "I believe Apple will create more differentiation between iPhone 15 Pros and iPhone 15 standard models to increase Pro shipment allocation and the new iPhone ASP (average selling price)," his tweet read. Kuo said that Apple may create differentiation between the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the iPhone 15 Pro models in order to generate more sales and profits in a mature market.

Apple is also expected to kill the Pro Max model with the launch of the iPhone 15 series. Apple is expected to create a huge gap between its Pro and Pro MAX models with iPhone 15 starting with a rebranding of the Pro Max as the iPhone 15 Ultra.
