Black Shark 4 inches closer to launch, key specifications leaked

At least two models of an upcoming Black Shark phone have leaked online. Here’s what we know so far.

A new Black Shark phone is on its way to the market. A Google Play Console listing has given us some clue about what to expect from the upcoming gaming smartphone.

According to GSMArena (via Pricebaba), the smartphone has model number PRS-A0 and codename “Penrose.” The phone is likely to debut as the Black Shark 4 Pro. The listing reveals the phone will ship with Android 11 out-of-the-box. It is also going to come with 12GB of RAM and a Full HD+ display.

The listing mentions the phone has SM8250 chip, which is Qualcomm's last year Snapdragon 865 SoC. The report suggests the upcoming phone could come with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 888 processor.

Interestingly, another unreleased Black Shark phone codenamed “Kaiser” had appeared on Google Play Console. The phone with model number KSR-A0 was listed with a Full HD+ display and 8GB of RAM. Other leaked specifications are 6.67-inch display, 120W fast charging support, and 4,500mAh battery.

As of now, details about the upcoming Black Shark phone are sketchy. The listings, however, suggest the phones will launch sooner than earlier anticipated.

Black Shark's last major launch was the Black Shark 3S. Launched in July last year, the handset offered 120Hz display and Snapdragon 865 SoC. The base model was priced around ₹42,600.

Other highlights of the Black Shark 3S are Wi-Fi 6, 5G, 4729mAh battery with 65W fast charging, and 6.67-inch full HD+ display. In the camera department, the phone offered primary a 64-megapixel sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 13-megapixel wide-angle sensor with 120-degree FoV and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. At the front, you get a 20-megapixel selfie camera.
