Gionee Max goes on sale today in India, all you need to know

Gionee Max comes with a 5,000mAh battery that's claimed to offer up to 28 days of standby time.

Gionee made a comeback to India last week with a new budget smartphone - Gionee Max. The new Gionee smartphone is now available to purchase as it's gone on sale via Flipkart.

Gionee Max is priced at ₹5,999 and it comes in only one variant with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. There's a 5% discount for Axis Bank credit card holders on the Gionee Max. Flipkart is also offering a 6-month trial of Google One with an exchange offer, no cost EMI or Complete Mobile Protection. Speaking of which, no cost EMI options start at ₹667 per month for the Gionee Max.

Gionee Max comes in three colour options of red, blue and black. In terms of specs, the smartphone has a 6.1-inch HD+ display with a notch on top and 2.5D curved glass. It's powered by an unspecified octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. The smartphone also has a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 256GB.

In the camera department, Gionee Max sports a dual-camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a bokeh lens. For selfies, the smartphone comes with a 5-megapixel front camera. The highlight of the phone is its massive 5,000mAh battery with support for reverse charging as well. Gionee says that the phone offers 28 days of standby time, 24 hours of music playback, over 9 hours of movie time, 42 hours of call time and 12 hours of gaming. Gionee Max is also one of the few phones in this price range to offer a 5,000mAh battery.
