Gionee Max to launch in India on August 25
Gionee will launch the Gionee Max in India on August 25. It is tipped to be priced under ₹6,000.
Gionee is all set to make a comeback in India. The company launched the Gionee F9 Plus in India back in September last year. Now, the company is set to return to the Indian smartphone market with the launch of the Gionee Max.
Gionee will launch the Gionee Max in India on August 25. The phone is already listed on Flipkart, which indicates that it will be launched via the Walmart-owned e-retail platform. The listing on the e-retail website reveals the bare outline of the upcoming smartphone, which hints towards the phone getting a waterdrop notch on top and a thick chin at the button. The image also reveals that the phone will get extremely thin bezels on the sides and the volume rockers and the power button will be placed on the right side of the display. In addition to that, the phone is tipped to get a massive battery and it will be priced less than ₹6,000.
The Flipkart listing also talks about a user survey wherein 70% voters have demanded a 4,500mAh battery. However, it is possible that the upcoming Gionee Max comes with an even bigger battery. The company on the page promised to reveal details about the phone's battery on August 20. It is expected to reveal more details about the upcoming smartphone in the days up to the launch. Gionee hasn't revealed any other detail about its upcoming smartphone.
It is worth noting that, an unreleased Gionee smartphone was spotted on Tenaa last month. The Tenaa listing, as per a report by GSM Arena, reveals that the upcoming Gionee phone has a 5.72-inch LCD display. It is powered by an unknown 2.0 GHz octa-core CPU that is coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage space. It has a 16-megapixel camera at the back and an 8-megapixel camera in the front. The phone has a large 10,000mAh battery and is tipped to launch in August.
It is possible that the phone spotted on Tenaa is indeed the upcoming Gionee Max. However, we will have to wait until August 25 to say more about it.
